Parent, Family and Group Coaching

What is Parent and Family Coaching?

It is a strengths-based process where a professional coach works with parents and or families to provide strategies, tools, and support to improve parenting skills, manage challenging behaviors, and foster stronger family relationships. It’s a collaborative process focused on present-day issues.

What is a Recovery Coach?

Recovery coaches often use their own lived experience to inspire and motivate clients, acting as partners, mentors, and role models.

What is Support Group Coaching?

There are support groups that are peer lead and then there is Support Group Coaching where a coach and/or therapist facilitate a group of people who share similar goals and challenges. During structured interactions and discussions, those in the group learn, grow and support each other.

After the many years of “Chasing Carson” I felt called to go back to school. I wanted to learn how to help families who have loved one’s struggling with substance use and mental health issues. I found the Balm Institute who taught me that as parents and family members, we can be our loved one’s best chance at recovery through our own awareness.

As a Family Recovery Coach, I can help you be in a loving relationship with your loved one without being attached to the outcome…whether they use or not…whether they seek help for their mental health issues or not. I do this through helping you have a shift in mindset, develop better communication skills, disable enabling along with treatment navigation.

Coaching is not therapy…Coaching “deepens the learning and forwards the action”.
